One of my favorites, a blue, sort of a dusty blue color, Gay Prince. Such a soft velvety, suedy feel to this one, and light in weight. A truly comfortable hat to wear.Do not know the year on this 3" brimmed one but it must be early, going by the tag in the center Sorry I did not take a pic of the other side for some reason?

Thanks, ejbhats!! Dobbs (hatco) actually still makes the Golden Coach line and its suppose to be their higher end line for higher end quality hats. Usually the Golden Coach products were a bit more money and had slightly nicer features like the perforated sweatband, etc. Between my Dobbs 40, and Dobbs Golden Coach 30, I have to say that the felt is extremely similar in finish and feel. The Guild edges are exactly the same, and the sweatbands are just as good quality. That black Golden Coach 30 dates to the late 50's I believe and the Dobbs 40 dates to the early 50's. Both were fairly higher end and expensive hats for the day.

Apologies for the late comment, I am not certain how it is that I missed this until now. At any rate, an absolutely stunning, and very early Gay Prince. I would estimate, based upon the sweatband, crown logo, and brim, that this is one of the earliest Gay Princes and dates to the mid-'40s. Very similar to Brad's fine example earlier in this thread.

Thanks, hatophile & delectans!!! I love that Dobbs 40. The felt is not only dense and wonderful, but the quality of the hat overall is just awesome. Dobbs really put out some amazing hats back in the day.

Dobbs 60

Well three 20's to be more exact. Bim sizes 2 3/4", 2 1/4", & 2 1/8". All are Guild edged and have prety much the same interior.

Agreed!! Excellent Dobbs collection there, facade. That light grey 20 looks a lot like my 40 that I just got. Its currently my favorite post war hat that I own. The sweatbands are such high quality on these hats and the cav edges are just awesome. :eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Dobbs Navy Homburg

Navy with binding that is an almost black with burgundy undertones. Large brim, 5-5/8 crown and embroidered logo liner. Thinking early 40's.
