That's a beauty! Congrats!
Super acquisition, congrats! My first Dobbs: A Hanley Hall model, in what might be called a light pecan, that I was lucky enough to acquire from Anthony during his recent blowout sale. I love everything about this hat: Its colors, its crown height and brim width, and, of course, its styling. And everyone take note: When Anthony tells you that a hat is in "mint" condition, he REALLY means it. This one looks like it was just taken off a hat shop self!

I sent Ant the scan of the Hanley Hall advert I found. If he didn't send it to you PM me and I'll get it to you. Hanley Hall is a famous building on one of the old colleges. I guess they were going for a younger crowd. My first Dobbs: A Hanley Hall model, in what might be called a light pecan, that I was lucky enough to acquire from Anthony during his recent blowout sale. I so wished that it would fit my big noggin when I saw moon list it.....so...........I will have to keep searching for one that fits me...though I doubt I would ever find one as fine as that!!!My first Dobbs: A Hanley Hall model, in what might be called a light pecan, that I was lucky enough to acquire from Anthony during his recent blowout sale. Hey, just knowing that the Hanely Hall was created for the college set makes me feel young again! Thanks for sending me the ad: it's about the coolest thing one could want to accompany a vintage hat.I sent Ant the scan of the Hanley Hall advert I found. Thanks Anthony! I have indeed had a devil of a time finding one in good condition that works for me. They have all either sported too short of crown, too small of a brim or in poor condition. I wasn't exactly looking for one in SB, but that color always seems to work for me.very nice Rick
I know you've been looking for a long time

Ik knew I had seen a doubled over brim somewhere before and here it is. I posted this hat recently in the Great British Hatmakers thread (maybe wrongly so, because there is some doubt if it is actually an English made hat). It is called a Terry Hat and has the same feature. Apparently to hold the form of the brim. Look for all the pictures in the other thread.I asked this in "Ask A Question..." but I thought I'd try here as well.
Quick question, y'all. I just got a Dobbs with a doubled-over brim. The brim is literally doubled over - all poofy-like - and it is sewn in with the sweatband. Here is a picture of the hat. Ever see or hear of such a hat before?
