The Diamond Authority

A little late on this one. I fear Dinerman's advice is good - re: bringing the front of the diamond down. As it is (was) it looks abysmal. The ribbon doesn't help.

I've been gaining more confidence with my creasing of late (I said confidence, not skill!), and reworked the Grandfather's Hat a little. I thought it might qualify for membership over here:

Thanks Bob. I really enjoy the hat. I'd call it a medium grey. I guess that picture does show a little brown, but I never pick up that in real life. The ribbon is definitely a cool grey.

I wear it everyday with a navy or charcoal suit and it's smashing. If I can help you with your decision by taking any more pictures, please shoot me a PM.

Thanks for the offer. I'll definitely keep you in mind. And did I say, that's one of the sharpest hats I've seen here.

What a Thread!

Before going to Krispy Kreme, I decided to reread this entire thread. There are so many wonderful examples here. The six-point diamond isn't seen often but here are some nice examples.

Nigel's looks like a loose 6-point to me

MrH's Dobbs is a 4-point but he almost has a sharp cross in the dome

Woodflutter's 4-point Georgia Diamond is incredibly sharp

Thanks, Rusty, for a great thread! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Lest we forget the origins of the 6-point crease...

Would it be alright with you gents if I submitted pics of my hubby's hats for entrants to the Diamond Authority? I can't convince him to check out this site himself, so I will have to be his proxy for now. [huh]

He loves old hats and ties, and has some pretty cool examples of both.

Sherri, I'm sure we all would enjoy seeing your hubby's hats. Please post some pics.

Hi, Sherri. Tell him he'd like it here. But in the meantime we'd love to see his hats.
