Resistol guessing around 50svintage. Needed a new sweat and crown ribbon as well as a gas bath and reblock. This one reminds me of the first borsalino I had circa 1940s with its low profile and sleek lines.
Color is a very light tan not really faded even though it looks it. Felt overall is very good and really came to life with some steam.

Velour Conversion

I saw a velour western on the Bay so I got it and did a conversion just to see how it would work....Came out quite good... I used a vintage maroon grosgrain ribbon and trimmed the brim to 2 3/8 for that 20's-30's look that I like. It is amazingly light and soft....Unfortunately it is a 7 1/2 and I wear a 7 1/8, so it will go in the sale pile....Now I want to find a velour in my size..

Wow, both of those hats are screaming nice! I always guessed that Bond knew how to make a hat look new. Nice job.....and the Black Velour looks like a full custom made hat. Geez!

Last night I updated one of my previous Resistol Stagecoach conversions. My favorite period in hats was the time frame between 1914-1919. I loved the tall crowns, great ribbon work, and awesome brim styles.

Here's what my conversion looked like when I finished it the first time.

Here's the conversion with a new brim flange, different pinch, a ton of pouncing/sanding, and different bow style.....

Josh, that hat looks great! I couldn't quite get a sense of the proportions until that shot with your hand; that looks like one bold hat.

Best,
Aaron

Nice work Josh, I like the updates. Now, did you go ahead and file that TPS report? ;)

:eusa_clap VERY NICE Josh!!! I really like how it turned out!

Today I added a new ribbon to my 1920's Stetson No.1 Quality. This was my first time using a needle & thread, or modifying a hat. It is in dire need of a brushing, which will happen tommorow... but here it is!
(The photos give the hat a blueish hue, but it is black)

I converted a very nice beaver hat company western hat into a western fedora for now. I may add a ribbon and bow later.
