She got a new life and now sports a 2” light green petersham ribbon with 13 pleats in the gilled bow. Bad luck?
I better stick a 4 leaf clover in one of the pleats!
4 3/4” crown at front crease. 2 3/4” raw edge brim.

Ha,ha ... oh my ... no. It started with my mother-in-law who was born on Friday the 13th and always considered the number "good". She even incorporated it into her custom license plate.

I'm not converting my hats in a big way, but I have had my hatter do some work on some of them. Here are a few.

Stetson heather felt. It had this awful macramé ribbon that just wouldn't do. Replaced.

This Howlison bowler was a bit of a mess. The sweatband couldn't be saved, the liner was torn and the felt was damaged.

One could debate of the design of this Terry hat was ever a good idea. The hat has a double brim, that is to say it is completely folded over and ends up inside the crown again. It is not a high quality hat, but this unique feature and its nice colour had me save this one.

This Knox 25 was nice enough, but I have a few of these thin ribboned hats and I felt it needed something else to get worn more.

I took inspiration from this Mossant hat I saw on auction and asked my hatter to replicate the bow design. She did.

This Mossant the Luxe is a very interesting hat with its perforated felt. It was a bit too big for me and the felt had issues with mothing and an old crease that remained very visible. That was fixed for the most part (some of the old crease can still be seen).

Added a campaign bow, trolley, rolled brim edge and US Calvary crown style crease.
Also had to stretch it as it had shrunk from its original size of 7 3/8 to
7 1/8!! I’ve only seen one other hat shrink that far.
Guess this hat also belongs on the eBay victories thread.
