Can you post a better picture of the original hat and the tag?Yes. Style is "S259 Hickory Bow" Color is "034 Chestnut"
Terry really? Did I complain? I just commented it looks like the other hat you have or had, I don't know and I don't care.No. It's definitely the only hat I have like this one...and if you're objecting to my trimming the brim I double checked the inside of my hat to see if I could find your name on it anywhere. I also double checked the receipt to see who paid for it. Guess what. Your name wasn't on MY hat and I was the one who paid for it. Sorry buddy. I don't need your permission to do what I want with the things that belong to me. But, on the other hand, I did decide that I wouldn't cut down brims that are 4 inches and over anymore. Those I'll leave western.
Sorry, Joao. Just got used to you saying something about cutting down brims. I thought you were going there again. My mistake. I apologize. But, no. It's a different hat. I still have the other one and it's creased differently and is a different color...Both are Stagecoaches. But different. Here they are, side by side.Terry really? Did I complain? I don't care what you do with your hats. For me you can use them as a chicken feeder or as a flower pot that... I don't care.
Your only hat like that? So you "lost" the other one you call "raider's hat" you keep bashing and bashing? Or did you ruin it with a loss of temper? Why am I asking this? I don't care.
How many times did I wrote "I don't care"? I don't care.
Period. Move on.
Can't wait to see where you go with this one!Sorry, Joao. Just got used to you saying something about cutting down brims. I thought you were going there again. My mistake. I apologize. But, no. Here's the other one you referenced
Here's the one I just finished
But, as we speak, I'm working on another one and it's on the block.
Can't wait to see where you go with this one!
Thanks, buddy. I'm kicking around a few ideas. I'll come up with something. Can't wait to see where you go with this one!
Thank you!Ok Joao
Here you go. Click on the pics might get bigger.
How would copper look?I have a roll. This is it on natural felt.Trying to finish up another conversion. It's off the block and creased. I still have to trim the brim and flange it, and I have to decide on a ribbon choice. This is another Resistol Stagecoach in Silverbelly. It was originally supposed to have a 3 1/2 brim width but was actually 3 1/8. I gave it the same tear drop crease with the same crown dimensions as my last Stagecoach conversion. It'll have the same 2 3/4 brim width as well. I'm very limited on my ribbon and I don't have much to choose from. I've always liked the mid ribbons of the Stetson Playboys and Wanderers. But, since I'm not financially healthy enough to try and get one I have to come up with my own stuff. So, I'll call this conversion and my last one, Tallboys, in reference to the tall Stagecoach crowns...
Trying to decide on a ribbon choice. I have this wide burgundy ribbon but I don't know how versatile it would be as far as going well with both casual and dressy attire...and my only brim flange has a flatter and more casual curl to it. So, I don't know how well it would work out...I want something versatile and casual.
This is a ribbon that Esther sent to me. 1 3/4 wide.
Here's a gray mid ribbon that has decorative edging. It was given to me from 'The Dane', Ole.
I don't have much to choose from.
I like the copper. Wonder how it would look on Silverbelly. I like the color of your natural felt, too.How would copper look?I have a roll. This is it on natural felt. View attachment 68414
Welcome, you will find a kind and encouraging group here. My suggestion is Read, Read, and Read some more! If you search the lounge (I suggest using Google + Fedora Lounge) you should see a number of posts and threads that can answer this query.Afternoon All,
Love this forum! I was wondering if anyone could help me out. i have just started making hats and have experience with sewing and patters etc, as I use to be a tailor on Savile Row. I am wanting to make a rounding jack as we can't get them in the UK. does anyone have any plans i could follow i am good with wood working and can make one but need a plan as I've never held one in my hands and actually studied its build.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Regards
Marcelle
