Nice one Garrett. Like everything about that one . The picture that inspired it is great too.
Here's a homburg that I converted using my new to me brim trimmer recommended by landman, it is supposed to take off a 1/8 at a time but I had to add a shim to it so it really cut off only a 1/8. Plus use a spacer on top of felt body. Anyway here's the results. Copper ribbon been wanting to use a long time . Cleaned the felt first in gas bath and resized up to a large 3/8 from a 1/4.

You can get the Brim trimmer at Hawkeye tack in Iowa . They work great . Kind of pricy but efficient .

Sadly, no lot number anywhere to be found (sorry Alan) Only this set of digits:

That's gorgeous... I missed it first time around. Thanks for posting the sweatband marks. I would guess this to be early 1940s. Stunning felt and great form. Josh brings loving hands to this stuff. Enjoy it!

Thanks guys.John,I'm using a 2" dark brown ribbon.I also frayed Bow.Thinking about a center dent,4 3/4" front,4 3/4 back. But I'm not sure yet.Alot of times I let these westerns talk to me,and tell me how they want to be creased.

I understand. I get the same way on old fedoras - to me finding an old crease is kind of like sweeping dust from a relic on an archeological dig.
