On an 6-8 panel traditional newsboy, is their any reason for the bigger buttons on top? It seems they're all big buttons these days... Not the ridiculously big buttons of the mid 70s, but definitely bigger than we used to see.

Made these from a U.S. Milled Woolrich Tweed.
Great weight and color.

Noticed yesterday that the AmiCharnel shop on Etsy is not in operation. Anyone know what is up with that? Has Stew thrown in the towel? I know he was having a hell of a time with the Royal Mail losing his shipments.

I bought a new hat from Stew in the first part of December. Stew is now operating from a personal website instead of etsy.

Quality is very good. I had the hat custom made, including the materials, liner, size and cut. It was a Christmas present for my brother, and he is thrilled with the cap.

Spent the last two weeks in Dublin, and of course I had to do some shopping while I was there. Found a tweed shop a few blocks from my hotel by the name of Kevin & Howlin, and I had to get myself a genuine tweed cap while I stopped in. However, naturally, I had to stop in one more time before I left. :)

Is bottom cap a city sport ? Nice tweed material.

Post from a relative noob-

Planning a purchase for a new flat cap, and wrestling with ordering a standard 11" or a smaller 10" crown. I'm a 7 5/8 pumpkinhead, and have had a hard time pulling 11+" crown caps off in the past, so was thinking the smaller size would do the trick, but it seems the general consensus is 10" caps are for wusses (lol); or rather, the smaller crown throws off the proportions and draping.

Anyway, it's of great debate for me at present, and if ayone has any comparison head shots they care to share with me, it would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers

Hello; I can't figure out how to start a new post so excuse me if I'm replying to someone else's. I just picked up this vintage Beck captain hat on Craigslist here in California. It is an original maybe from the 30s or 40s maybe 50s. It's in great shape and size 7 1/8,it has a very ornate union label with a bold serial number on it but the rest of label is faded. I saw one NOS just like it on Ebay and they are asking $495.00 for it. It's a great classic looking hat and I will wear it. I also just ordered a New York Hat Co Brando hat today, one in Denim and one in Canvas Khaki color. Here's hoping my photos will appear.
