Thank you, fellas!!

I won't post 'salesy' things here after this post - I've just opened a Merchants thread, so you can follow that stuff from there. I did want to say I put up a photo album of my vintage fabrics - 31 flavors to start with - >>Here.<<

When I first decided to get a cap I won this one off ebay for $5. It was worth it to me, however I knew...and still know next to nothing about dating caps. Can someone help me with any info? And then tell me how you know, so I can learn....

Edm1 - that was certainly worth your money, especially if it looks nice on you! while it is hard to date it exactly, looking under the hood as it were is the way to go – the interior of the cap can be the best way to date it. The lining material, sweat and the size tag look to me to be probably 1960s, though it could be a few years earlier.

Nice hat, good color. Did you take the pics of the hat on a bed? Were you aware that hats on beds are considered to invite bad luck? An old superstition, but one I try to abide by given the option. Like all superstitions, I have no real basis for this belief nor have I suffered any adverse consequences when my wife tosses one of my hats onto our bed. (She never heard of the superstition and I can't seem to break her of the habit.)

Wow And what a coincidence I have some of those designs sitting on my work table now! Such as the "trench" style and the invisible back pleats.
Talking about Belted caps, Here's my new addition!

The Regent - A cap to match your belted pleated back suit . Loose top belt with 4 pleats running down the top.

11 inch wide
2.5 inch Visor
