@ seabass, Oh yeah, the ones coming out of Germany are really nice and well made...Stetson has a German made linen Hatteras for around a $100 at Village Hat Shop that's pretty nice...and Holland Hats has a nice selection of German made Stetsons too...http://www.hollandhats.com/catalog/c47_p1.html ...the Gilchrist I'm wearing is China made, hence the $58 price tag...

@ ManofKent, Actually, I've been looking at some caps by Christys...they don't seem too bad at all for the money...another one to look at would be Cappas if you like Big Apple hats...but for me I think City Sport is a good quality off the shelf cap for the money...I have a City Sport for Winter wear and I love that hat...but I think I'm going to try to get one custom made by Simonds...some of the loungers have Simonds caps and they look great!

Spending time with my brother in his new Simonds 8 Panel Workwear Cap. He lives in southern Florida in a beautiful private owned home that cares for disabled vets. The white Cordova 8 Dart Cap I am wearing worked well in the 89 degree heat.

T Jones, yea good leds on those German Stetson caps i think the Silk might be warmer than Linen... Nice caps though...

Well my Latest caps came from our very own Simonds !

its getting warm my way so i better post up some teaser pics ....
Simonds you deserve better pics & i will in the future...
I was rushing & just snapped these quickly... the fabrics have excellent body & only get better by wearing them.
Ive only had a few chances to wear each & recieved many good comments on both....
this was from some 100 year old pants Simonds found, I think flat-top got one from this fabric as well..?

next is some crazy atomic vintage fabric with a real nice leather sweat,,, great work, craftsmanship !

These 2 caps do not sit flat on the head ((my model Rebecca has a weird head))
they prop up real nice around the back just like a vintage cap was made to do..
Overall Great Caps & Value when compared to some factory caps,, Best thing is they are made by hand to Fit !

I remember this being posted a couple of months ago. I like how they ruin the whole video by not having the same cap on the bike rider at the end. Always fun to watch.

I posted it a couple months ago. I seem to recall that this factory was acquired by FWS. They may have been in operation during the DDR and prior.

Oh yes the video is great for the factory in Germany
Then the wrong cap on the bicyclist ruins it as
TWH states. What's worst the bicyclist is here in the USA
Note the taxis & traffic signals & signs.

But the actual factory scenes are well done
Great to see all the hand work being done
& the old machinery. Some very nice caps being produced there. I want one for sure seems high quality.

I'm thrilled to see the increase in wearing caps! They are a perfect alternative to a fedora.
