Oh no, I'd given up searching City Sport caps on the web, and just this morning I followed a link on another cap thread and when I scrolled down looking at various donegal tweed caps, I found over half a dozen 'made in Europe'... they're bloody City Sport - check out the big nubbly, looks like an abstract painting numbers http://www.classic-caps.co.uk/acatalog/baker_boy.html They are listing them all at 11 inches, but they look like the trimmer style newsboy in the photos.

The Killarney Tweed number, of unknown brand, down the bottom of the page is nice too. Terrible pictures though.

I'm the same. I don't like small, narrow brims. The extended brim City Sports are very good in that regard. I liked the way Hat People brims wrap around your forehead and temples, but I always wished they were bigger overall. The City Sport brims wrap right around over your temples and are only beaten in size by the Zasu. I was surprised when I got the City Sport and the Wigens that the City Sport brim was bigger, just as long as the Wigens but much wider. With the City Sport newsboys, I think they have the bigger brims on the bigger newsboy, and they have a shorter brim on the trimmer ones.... but some of the trimmer ones, like the ones shown in that link, and sold by Earland brothers on ebay, have the extended brim that is the same size as the bigger newsboy. I quite like the trimmer newsboy that I have with the extended brim... the trimmer style is more convenient when driving, to chuck on a seat or dash, but you still have the awesome sized brim.

Terrible photo, but you can see how big the brim is on mine in comparison to the crown... it reminds me of the look of the ancient gaul helmets in reverse.

A,
I like that brim good protection & no mushrooming, i guess with the longer (front to rear) length it flatens the cap slighty
but thats cool the Mr.Freedoms do that too

I don't think that hardcore vintage cap officianados would like CS, but there are a lot of things about this cap that works for me. All I need is a bespoke maker to copy this cap design and add snaps and an eight panel lining :p Whoops, they might be watching!

You shouldn't really listen to me though. I talk a lot and know nothing about fashion - vintage or otherwise. I originally started buying caps to find something that covered my bald spot when playing guitar... and after being horrified seeing myself with a western style akubra and thinking I looked like the love child of George Strait and Lee Kernaghan... I began my search for the ultimate bogan fighting headpiece.

your info is valuable,especially about wools & how you produce it. i rarely buy factory hats but i just bought the linen city-sport & a modern milan stetson stratoliner due the great reviews on this board. funny how some do start wearin caps/fedoras due to a lacking hair & I have a good head of hair but im cutting it 3 times a month so i wear the hats to keep me warm & protected. heck ima little over 50 & i have been wearin caps/fedoras most of my life. its a part of the daily wear for me....& i do think its great that this forum helps folks that start out hat shy
& then take off collecting. it can be addicting,,,,,, oh yea dont give up the women & drinking,
the hats can lead you to many of both.
weather you are a fashion nazi or joe 6-pack every guy looks great in a hat dressed down or stylin.
Happy St Patricks folks just came back from bev-mo with a nice bottle of aged irish pretty tasty.....good stuff.& i am a johnny/Black guy

Sort of on the way to the shape of Marc Chevalier's vintage 202/30s caps.

Just thought I'd share this City Sport that I got recently of the bay at a bargain price of £12 with tags still fitted, I bought it because of the many comments on here giving good write up's re same...I'd wanted a herringbone all wool in a dark grey for ages then this came up, seller only had 59 and 61 in just two colours and after ordering one I thought " I'll bet there's no dark grey in the 59 left" and there wasn't! but I took a chance and had one in a 61 anyway after hearing they are made a little on the small side.
When it arrived I was impressed by the quality and also by the fact that it was made of Harris tweed (which the seller didn't state), I tried it on and it was a little loose so after taking advice given on here I dunked it in some hot to the hand water ...left it 5 minutes then towel patted it dry and left it for a day and a half to dry...result, it fits! here's a few shots;
