I bought this on EBAY last week. I'm not sure of the vintage. The 6 digit number starts with 62 and there's a price tag of $35 under the sweatband. It does say "Original House" and has a cloth size tag. Interestingly the hat fits me well even though it is a 7 1/4 and I have a 23" head. Maybe its the very light soft felt. This is going to be a great Summer hat. I gave it a center crease and tight front pinch for now. Any ideas on age would be appreciated. Its in just about mint condition:

Ok Russ, I made the move......:D

I have a cheap Black Wool that had a black grosgrain on it. It was pretty crappy looking, so I decided to try and put on a thin "Carbon" color ribbon.
Here's how it turned out.....

Before and After......

I live close to the David Morgan showroom. I went up there yesterday and picked up this mfr's sample of his Bushman. It went on the closeout pile because the production version is of a slightly different shade. So I got this at a great price.

I wore it around for a day to let the hat and my head find a bash they could agree on. I finally steam-bashed this teardrop with long creases. It's sort of half-way between a C-crown and a cattleman's crease.

So ... can I join?

Hey RBH

Lots of good looking thin ribbons here. What is the hat you're wearing in your avatar? I've got a Tawny Fawn Campdraft on order from Hatsdirect, I was wondering if the hat you're wearing is your Campdraft. Whatever it is, it looks great on your noggin.

Humble Application

Hello-

I hereby respectfully submit my application is your most noble brotherhood. My entry is a Resistol OR clone that was redone by Gus Miller @ Batsakes for me. It currently has a fedora crease and is my new favorite hat. Thanks

Pete

Thanks! The one in that shot is my vintage Borsolino Alessandria.
Man is it a sweet hat, the Campdraft comes real close in style to that Borsolino but of course the vintage felt is the difference.

With my recent purchase of a Stetson 100 I now have 10 ten ribbon with count for half of my present 20 fur felt hats. I keep a spreadsheet of my hat purchases starting with my first hat in early June 2008 a Stetson 25 ribbon
front.jpg

Stetson 25 wit back sweat band. The hat crown is soft with a 3” stiff brim. I took the liner out which was glued in and had a well-faded picture of the cowboy letting his horse drink from his hat. The original size was 7 1/8 brought before the day I figured out I wear a large 7 ¼ to a small 7 3/8. With steam and a hat stretcher the ht now fits fine

Stetson 7X clear beaver before

Steton 7X clear beaver after 2 napa cleanings and months of hard wear with new crease.
HPIM0487.jpg
The clear beaver print on the sweat is all but rubed away but the thick sweat band hold up well with menory size 7 1/8 so I store the hat on a streacher
HPIM0358.jpg

McCloud 100% beaver siz3 7 1/8
HPIM0490.jpg

Open road royal delux purchase from the loung classified
HPIM0484.jpg

Stetson 7X recreased from a stiff cattlemen still wet from be worn out during todays storm fits loose at 7 1/4
HPIM0489.jpg

Light soft felt fits like it was custom made for me not the hat I grabed to venture out in the storm today
HPIM0473.jpg

johnnyphi Lee trail compares even with a Stetson royal

Beaver Hats in olive-gray my ever day construction work hats. The felt is somewhat stiff hold t shape well. It came with a low C crown which I re-shaped to heighten the crown

Last up is the Stetson 100 I purchase yesterday from Buler which can be seen at it own thread

I wanted to send this to jimmy the lid to shape the crown and brim. I have heckled him so much I just did not think I could trust him to return the hat to me. So this is just my feeble attempt.;) :)

No one said anything about this one so I'll say it: Nice Knox! Good pickup.
UWS Cowboy, When will we see the Knox on your noggin?

jonbuilder, As our friend Rusty would say, "You can't have too many great thin ribbon hats." Nice collection.

carouselvic, Let's see that beauty in action!
