Brüder Böhm Wien Flexible Melone

Size 58cm, weighs 180 grams, probably 1920s - 1930s. I believe there could be some wool content in this Melone. It also has a cord which is not typical.

Pictures don't do it nearly enough justice. It almost has a rust color as opposed to brown. It's a bit heavier being a riding derby, but the hunting pad is really comfortable.

The Hunting pad looks like it was hand-sewn into the hat.

My guess is late 1950s. It's a really nice one. Sorry it didn't fit but you shouldn't have problems reselling it. You should be able to find a fantastic vintage Melone in size 57cm.

206 grams. Easily the heaviest bowler I've owned so far.

I just weighed a few more for reference.


Stetson Standard Quality-134 grams

Moore and Sons- 148 grams. Labeled as Featherette

Miller Correct Styles- 156 grams

Herbert Johnson- 170 grams

Knox Premier- 152 grams

This one has an almost identical crown and brim style as my Stetson Standard. The only differences are that the Herbert Johnson has a longer haired finish to it like a Lock and Co. or Christys Bowler and is a bit heavier.
