My grey velour Borsalino is 'Amiata' as well. I would presume that referred to the colour.

Nice hats! I love the colour and the ribbon on the 'Avorio'

Any Borsalino experts out there have a rough guess at the ages of these two? I am getting much better at Stetsons but I'm very new to Borsalinos.

A new member of the Brotherhood, that I acquired from a former lounger - nice to see a good price on an eBay BIN.

Nice Borsalino in the Open Road style in great condition, I'd been looking out for one for a while. I just love the Borsalino felt quality.

I have one very much like that, if not identical. It's an interesting color combination with the felt and the trim. My wind string is stretched out and looks like hell, debating whether to cut it off....

I had that same problem on another Borsalino, Tom. I did remove the cord because I didn't like how it looked and it was ready to fall off anyway.

It's a shame that Borsalino used that cheapo elastic for this rather than regular cord.

Here is my light rust-colored Borsalino fedora: ‘kitten finish’ beaver felt, with an overwelt brim edge. As close to orange as a serious fedora can get.

What, you may ask, can be worn with an orange fedora? Why, teal blue of course – preferably in gabardine or flannel. With orangey brown shoes, if you please.

Wow!! That one is quite a hat, Marc.

I can't say I'm totally sold on the colour, but love the style!

+1 beautiful hat but, as you know, I'm the gray guy around here. The composition of colors with the suit, shoes and tie work great, too.

We all know how it is with eBay sellers and Borsalinos - they seem to think they are all worth a small fortune and price their auctions accordingly; especially the BINs. If we are patient, we see that after a few founds of not selling, reality starts to set in and the BIN price starts to come down a little.

That was the case with this Borsalino "Pesca" I recently bought. I'd watched the high price get closer to what I'd pay so I contacted the buyer and made an offer which she accepted.

I'd read on the Lounge that Pesca is Italian for fish or fishing (and Google seems to confirm this), but also for peach. I'm going with the latter, because I don't really want to be wearing a fish and the felt does have a peach-like or suede feel to it - very nice indeed as it happens, the hat feels very luxurious.

The colour is a green/grey and the hat has a felted thin "ribbon" made of the same colour felt. All in all, a different take on the Open Road style Borsalino, one that I'm enjoying a lot!

Nice one, David. Fish in Italian is Pesce but fishing is pesca and so is peach... maybe this one was advertised as a hat for going fishing?

Maybe for fishing wearing a cool hat, with the company of a beautiful lady while enjoying some peaches, washed down with a bottle of nice champagne?
Hmm, maybe I should take up fishing!
