I’m posting a couple more of my small collection of Borsalino. Hopefully some of you more knowledgeable members can help me with dating or other information.
First is a stingy brim in Sepia. Brim is 4.7cm and crown to pinch is 10cm. Original House label, so made for N. American market pre-1985.

I have no idea what this hand written tag represents

It has the standard N. American size tag

This is a modern Borso. If I’m reading the tag right 1993, but it is a beauty. The brim is 7cm, crown to the pinch is 11. Made for the European market, size tag says 58 and 7 1/8. This one has a quality “guarantee” and that the felt is pure rabbit, I can only make out a few os the words.

It’s a very interesting shade of blue.

That's a really nice hat man! 2-3/4 brim is badass!

I love this little stingy brim black longhair. Brim is only 4cm, 10cm to the pinch. A “Diamanté” Twenty Five, with Original House label and Eulan Bayer size tag. Both this hat and the sepia have the corrugated spacer at the front of the sweatband

Some nice looking Borsalinos you've got there, Richard. All of them from the mid-fifties to early sixties. The serrated label without the borsalino name printed sideways was in use in that period.

Good evening Gentlemen,

I am new here and was recently referred to this forum on account of a Borsalino I found online. I would love to know your thoughts on my find?

I have one of these from the same seller. The hats he sells are new old stock. The colour of that one is called "azoico". The hat dates from the sixties, maybe early seventies. If he still has one in your size I'd say go for it: it's a wonderful hat in a great colour and finish.

My newest submission to the Brotherhood. A Borsalino Export Qualität homburg in Dattero. This hat got my attention when @steur posted it a month ago. Love the felt, beautiful rich chocolate color and the lines of the brim on this piece. Needs a little nudge up in size, should take it well. The old onion skin has seen better days, I'll do some trimming to expose the beautiful liner tip. It was sold by Specialhaus Globus. Mid-fifties to early sixties in vintage.

Mike, That's a nice one. I admired it when Steur first posted it and it just gets better as I see it more.
I have one with an oilskin liner tip that is torn too. Do you have advice for removing. Even though the oilskin on mine is torn, it is still surprisingly sturdy. I thought it would just peal away, but that's not the case.

I plan to at least trim away the remnants of the oilskin remaining. Not sure about the remaining seam. Hopefully someone else has dealt with this issue. The liner underneath was unstained so it should look ok.

Do you own a Stetson StRegis hommie? I would like to pick one up but curious how they compare with a Borsa. Could you comment on your opinion of a vintage comparison?
Yes, My St. Regis is a fairly early example, Moon thinks it may be 1940s. So, vintage quality, yeah. The felt on the Borsalino is much softer. They both mold well with just a touch, but the St. Regis is a little more supple. In comparison of the quality and workmanship, both are very nice. I think the overall finish of the Borso is a little more detailed. Love them both a whole bunch!
