At the moment, I don't think that this one is just the best of 2009 - it's probably the finest hat I've seen on the Lounge.

I'd vote for this one too!

Super rare type of fedora... I own one much like this with a black ribbon... however this one is in much nicer shape.

Also, this Knapp Felt job is quite the looker!!!

I'd say those are the best in my opinion for the year!

Glad to know you think so, because I'm selling an identical black "seal beaver" one on eBay tomorrow, size 7 1/8. No joke.

.
Are you serious! I will be on pins all week! So the "seal beaver" goes to the wolves tomorrow night?

Can't we give Yoko a pass? She was widowed, 29 years ago, yesterday. John would have wanted us to. TLH

I dig her - it wasn't a shot.

Very Nice Hat! Could you provide a little info about it?

It's not mine. It's posted here.

Was this beast the product of secret German wartime genetics lab experiments?

MayserWegener's hats were both pre-WWII Hückels. Fritz Hückel in W. Germany and Tonak and Peschel kept making Seal Velours for some time.

Borsalino Angora

Here is a quite recent aquisition. It istantly became one of my favourites and surely qualifies for this thread.

Borsalino Angora 7 3/8. It has got a brown paper size tag, so, I´d put it somewhere late 40ies early 50ies. The felt is very lightweight, pliable and holds any shape.

The actual colour is a bit less camel, than in the picture. It is more something like "Golden Café au Lait"
