I think that Pig Latin is not only a term which has disappeared, but a whole language. Hard to imagine the present cell-phone-generation of kids using it...
To put UrlyCay's language ability in perspective, when I was in the 4th grade we could call my best friend's dog (A white Spitz named "Snowball") using Pig Latin: "EreHay, OwSnay AllBay!, and she would come running...

I don't think I've seen this one here yet. But as I've used it twice in two days...

Does anyone else still use the word "Conniption/conniption fit" anymore??

Does anyone still know what the hell it means? I've never heard anyone apart from myself using it.

Still hear that one all the time around here.

A conniption fit is when a person has an angry, loud outrage about something or someone with big hand and facial gestures used. We have conniption fits all the time down here in the south! ;)

A few years back I noticed a drastic spike in the number of people randomly seeming to have conniptions. I would often see them driving, or even just walking around......then I found out what a Bluetooth was.

In the Pacific Northwest, we use the term, but Hissy Fit is more common.

Lizzy, I love that "Go tell your mother she wants you" one! I haven't heard it before, but I'm gonna have to use it!

Anyone remember one that was like the short pier one, but something to the tune of "face the ocean and start walking" or some similar such?

I just noticed the terms, "Two way radio," and "Walkie Talkie" are back in style! Although, the later is still being miss used. The Walkie Talkie was the big radio men wore on their backs, where almost two thirds of it were batteries. The hand held devise was a "Handie Talkie."
