Swap shopping anyone?

I was watching a segment on the Today show, this morning and it was all about swapping your clothing and accesories with friends who have the same style and such as you. It looked like a great way to get new things for nothing. I was thinking how great it would be to be able to do this with vintage minded people such as ourselves. But who lives near enough people to do this? Most of us do not.

So who is up for a wardrobe swap? All you have to do is list a picture of what you no longer want and maybe someon will swap you for something you would love to add to your wardrobe.

Bartenders remove this thread if its breaking any rules.

I'd love to participate, but with the shipping costs between US and Europe being ridiculously high, I'll have to wait until I'm over there later this year. :)

We could do a seperate thread for us European ladies...?:)

Would it be ok if a guy participates in the swap? I have several Hawaiian dresses and semi-vintage dresses that I bought for my wife but which either don't fit or which she feels don't look right on her.

Great idea !
So how do we work out shipping etc ?

The best way I figure for shipping is you pay the shipping for the tiem you ship out and the other person pays for that item. Most items are going to be about the same shipping rates. If not that can be worked out between people.

Warbaby, Sure you can join! As long as we are swapping womens stuff thats fine.

What a great idea, I will have to get digging in my closet, and see what I never grab for or doesnt fit. :D

You and I need to get together and have a trading party since we are close and about the same size.

I've always wanted to throw a vintage Naked Ladies party here in Portland, but we're all so many different shapes and sizes that it just never came to fruition. I very much like the idea, and since I sell, there are times I find great things that may not be perfect for Ebay, but that I KNOW someone would love. I would love to have those pieces help fill out my personal wardrobe!

Shall it all be done on this thread, or perhaps start one specifically for trades - i.e., no discussion?

Cheers,
Julie

Red Blouse for trade

I purchased this and it was too small for me. Hopefully someone will like it! It's a silky blouse, possibly rayon?

from the original description:

This great looking blouse is "A Capri Original".

The condition is wonderful, gently used with no holes, stains, fade or damage. The color is good. I do not see any under arm discoloring. I have not washed this blouse.

This vintage blouse measures approximately 24 inches across the bust from side seam to side seam at the underarms, unstretched. It measures 18 inches across the top of the shoulders from side shoulder seam to side shoulder seam. The sleeves are 18 inch long from the top of the shoulder seam to the outer edge of the 1 3/8 inch wide cuffs. The arm holes are 10 inches around. This blouse measures 16 1/2 inches across the back half way down the shoulder seams. It measures 21 inches long from the top of the shoulders to the bottom edge at the front. The bottom sweep is approximately 34 inches around.

There are no pockets. The front opening has one large fabric covered button, a button hole, three metal hooks and eyes and a metal snap. The bottom waist band measures 2 inches wide and has an end piece that goes through a round buckle to adjust the fit. The sleeve cuffs are two inches wide with buckles also. There are pleated details on the front and the back. The collar is three inches wide at the points

Several things for trade...

Orlon Cardigan. No closures. Really great condition, and I just had it dry cleaned. Up to 44" bust I'd say, but will really fit any size since there are no closures.

Also, I have two Ragos to trade. One is 36D and one is 34D, black and white respectively. They both fit me. They have both been used, so I don't know, is that yucky? If so let me know. lol
