summer clothes down but need to start winterizing

So I've haviung troulbe with Winter-rizing my clothing i have some summer vintagey dresses and skirts but what to do for winter what kind of peices should i be looking for? theres got to be more than just dress's or skirts for winter wear? [huh]

Follow Miss Hepburn & Miss Davis...

As a fan of '40's, in addition to reading the Lounge's threads mentioned above, I also wholeheartedly suggest watching movies made during the years you're interested in...Have a look at "at home" publicity stills, too.

Fantastic party gowns nonwithstanding, Katharine Hepburn and Bette Davis were often dressed in outfits that were stylish but fairly easy to duplicate off the rack. I find Miss Hepburn's outfits easiest to duplicate, as she wore tailored, classic lines that are still made today.

Miss Hepburn's clothing is especially helpful when it comes to cold weather; in her "at home" publicity shots she often wore slacks in a tailored, put together way.
