I mentioned in a previous post that I am directing a Play early next month.
One of my characters is Ivan Karamazov and needs to be dressed as a Russian intellectual from about 1890.
The costume I have, but the essential, that is - the hat - is missing.
I'm having difficulty deciding on a style that is right for the time & place (1890, Russia)
Also, the actor wears about a 7 1/4.
Any help here would be appriciated.

A top hat. Russian intellectuals were no different that Western European ones at that time. Maybe a worn and shabby top hat, because intellectuals weren't rich enough to afford a shiny silk top hat.
