I agree that the prices aren't cheap. But these re Stetson cowboy hats, which have a very large following that is willing to pay big bucks for Xs, with no details on what the Xs mean. There are an awful lot of Western wear stores out there, so this group is likely bigger than we are at the moment, which is good news for Stetson's profit margin. At least both of these hats feature a classic look, not the low crown, feather band, taco shell brim stuff we see so often.

Hopefully lots of folks do buy these, so that less-wealthy Lounges can pick them up at a more affordable price a few yeas from now on Ebay. I've always felt that way about cars, too. Why would anybody pay that new-car price? But if nobody did, there wouldn't be any used cars for folks like me to buy later on

The only info available is that it exists and have a 4" brim and 6" crown. It can be wool, it can be any fur mix. No X's on the website.
Also I don't see the "special design" on this hat, it looks something I saw here made by someone.
I prefer to buy an old Stagecoach for less than 1/4 of the price and have someone make a bow like that for me (or make it myself).
Now some people might have not the will to do that or does not care for it's cost and buy it new. And then sells it (and we grab it for cheap!)

When I saw it first in a Stetson newsletter, my first thought was were did I saw that hat before...
I'm more inclined to buy a hat body and make a hat for myself... only need someone to buy a large quantity of really big beaver felt from FEPSA lol
