I like the Navy Blue. Will they ship FPO? I'm in Cuba and believe it or not. Few wear hats here when not in uniform

I know two meanings of "FPO": "Floating Point Operation" and "For Position Only". None of them seem to make sense in this context, though. Other meanings? :)

Mine arrived yesterday. Wore it this morning and got lots of compliments. I know reviews have been mixed but mine is much closer to my premier Strat than a modern Royal Strat in dimensions. The brim is an 1/8" or so wider and the crown is blocked a bit taller too. It's not as good a fit though. It's enough too big that is just touches the top of my ears at times (which are a bit large). It needs to be just a tad more long oval for me as well. Maybe it will shrink a bit in time and adjust to my noggin.

Looks good, have you tried using the spacers to adjust the fit?

No, not yet, but will give it a try. Not sure whether to oust spacers in the side or in the front and back to force it to elongate a bit more.

In my experience it will be a trial and error adjustment.
Do you have a stretcher that you've made long oval? That would make it much easier.

I have a stretcher, but it seems to make it larger all the way around.

If you're not used to re-shaping/stretching hats, you should be very careful. It sounds like the hat is a bit big for you, so you definitely don't want to make it any bigger.

If you have a hat with the exact right circumference, that seems a little snug front/back and a little roomy left/right, it's probably a Regular Oval - while you're a Long Oval. Then you can "stretch" into the right shape with a hat-stretcher, converted to Long Oval (= sanded narrower).

Personally I'm right between 7-1/4 and 7-3/8 and Long Oval. I use an old stretcher, marked 6-7/8. That seems just right for my head size. I retain the circumference - and just change the oval. With the stretcher in place I work over the most inner part of the brim with a so-called foot tolliker. You can use any small piece of smooth sanded wood. Check this video:

In your case I believe the hat will conform to your head with time/wear, though :)

Just in! The fit is good & all I have done so far is snap the brim down. I really like the navy blue color with the pewter ribbon & brim binding. Maybe the flag will help but these pics are pretty accurate of the navy blue. Thanks to One 2 Mini Ranch for their great service!

Wise Hatter, you were wanting a head shot. Beyond these pics I can tell you that I ordered my normal size of 7-5/8, the hat sits level just above my ears the way I like it & the crown is just off the top of my head. If you like you hats to sit up higher on your head or wear them cocked then you might want to adjust the size accordingly.

Glad to hear you liked the hat and many thanks for the kind words.
I wish I could take credit for the fit but, as we know, it's the luck of the draw.
Enjoy!
