Hi all, as an Aussie I’m a newbie to the Stetson game. Am I correct in thinking this is nothing special and relatively modern?

Dinerman has this crest at the start of the thread, but there isn’t a lot of info. Anyone come across more dating points for it? It’s post-Chestnut St move.

This crest appears earlier on another hat made for the Canadian market. It appears here on a brown bowler.

There is no sweat stamp so I will have to work out a way to save the paper when it arrives. Any ideas?

This is what I'm calling a 1940's Stetson 3X that I just won in eBay auction. The sweatband logo says Vita-Felt Process under logo. This logo or crest is sharply detailed and has thin, upright beaver instead of chubby, hunched over beaver. The liner crest matches these details, and both have stars instead of maple leaf. Don't know how many other hats on the Lounge have this Vita-Felt designation under the logo. My personal guess is that this hat is from the early part of the period when the satin liner with gold roundel was used. Opinions, anyone?

In the discussion about stars vs maple leaf in the Stetson crest or logo, which change took place around 1950 or so, the stars were later revived. Seems I've seen them on the sweatband of late 50's-early 60's Stetson 100 hats, and stars are seen in some hats in later years, but you can't confuse these later hats as being from the 1950 or earlier period unless you're not very familiar with Stetson hats.
