That's OK; I hate to hear that EC is boring! I'm from the generation that claimed 'Clapton is GOD!'. I think Cream's 'Crossroads' live version pretty much sums that up precisely. Say no more!

I always found Jeff Beck much more interesting

"DANCE TO THE MUSIC" by Sly and the Family Stone. If you don't feel good after THAT one, go see a doctor!;)

I think Sly got way better into the early-mid 70's (music wise not personal habbits). "Frisky" ,"Poet", If you want me to stay" "Loose Booty" "Luv' N Haight" "Time for livin" I don't know(satsifaction) was in my opinion far more complex, deeper, more soulful, Funkier, but most importantly more of Sly really expressing himself and not the record label. Dance to the music is good but these songs are Great.

Obviously Thank You(Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) is an instant classic white or black, young or old, square or hip.

Oh I love Ok Go--Don't Ask Me, The House Wins, Return, 1000 Miles Per Hour (though the lyrics to the last two aren't particularly happy...)

Billie Holiday with the Count Basie Orchestra, doing "I Hear Music"!

I love the bridge - "there's my favorite melody/ you my angel, phoning me"

Such a swinging tune!

I defy anyone who can tune in radio legend Teresa Zapolska to not get a huge smile on thier kisser. She is so infectuously vivacious, she'll make a polka lover out of anyone.

"In the Mood" was my gateway drug to big band music...that song never fails to cure what ails me. And I defy anyone to sit still through "Sing Sing Sing."

In contemporary stuff, give me Pink Martini any day.
