Like I said, anything short of knowing Dewey Decimal and where to look in the stacks is just a crutch....lol

Besides, that way I can just tear directly into the problem rather than waste precious time trying to figure out where my subject is, which also saves my clients $$$ by shaving a little off the time being piled up at my standard contractor rates.

Haha, my knowledge of Dewey became some type of lame party trick while I was a librarian... thankfully the numbers don't haunt me much anymore. lol

... Could you ever just leave the cell phone home?

I have never owned a cel phone. All the phones in my house say "Western Electric" on them.

At Easter dinner last Sunday, one of my cousins called me a ludite for not having (or wanting) a cel phone. I took it as a compliment!

Cell Phones! My ex-girlfriend wanted to buy me one so I could call her if I was going to be late. I told her to stop worrying so much! She was such a worrywart!

None of my few friends call me at home, so why should I pay for cell service that'll never be used? If the car breaks down, there're still pay phones or other people with cell phones.

Generally, when I leave the house, I'm either where I can be reached, or I don't want to be reached at all. I've never felt the need to be connected with the world, let alone family and friends, 24/7. Sometimes, I just like to get away. Heck! I bought my first cordless phone just a month ago!

I don't use my computer as much as I used to, either.

My first couple of years in college (2002-2004), our library was still using up the old cards from the card catalogs. They had them by the card catalog computer stations for use as scrap paper.
