Also search reviews here before you decide to place an order.
That’s a weird return policy. They will try to re-sell it ( maybe ) then give you the money ? Totally Absurd !!The leather itself is awesome! Exactly what I expected. As for the return, I was informed I would have to pay an additional 20 pounds for them to advertise it on their website and hope it would sell at a reasonable price, then they would refund me whatever they received for it. I assumed I would be responsible for return shipping but that since it was a standard size they would replace it with one that actually fit me.
Gothcha, my nephew loves my lux jacket and I have been looking around at getting him his first real jacket. He needs a real 36 as wellI posted all the measurements earlier today. The pit to pit is actually 21.5". Thanks.

I have had 2 jackets made to order from sb. Both were exactly as requested. I sent my body measurements. I sent measurements of a good fitting jacket. Then I sent the measurements that I wanted my ordered jacket to be. Example for the chest I specified no less than 23" no more than 23.5" as the .5 tolerance for raw materials. If i order a jacket from anywhere besides L.W. then I always continually "voice"the desired measurements throughout the order process.I think I can read between the lines, lol. What other companies have offerings in teacore leathers?
Here is the return policy that is listed on their website:
Simmons Bilt offer a full bespoke service on all our leather jackets but please keep in mind each jacket is individually handcrafted by one of our specialist artisans and leather is a natural product and can stretch during production, so whilst every effort is made to construct your jacket to your exact specifications there is a possibility there may be margin of millimeters between your given measurements and the finished product.
We will accept a return of a custom jacket if it is shown to have a defect, (natural characteristics in the leather are not classed as defects), there has been a production error or there is an unacceptable margin between the measurements provided against the finished garment measurements. (We would typically take the view that 14mm is acceptable given the traditional production techniques we employ and the raw materials used although all queries will be reviewed individually)

Beautiful. That leather is awsome, I have a jacket in lux and I love it. Sorry about the fit. Im not sure whats going on with sizing I sent my measurements to Deb an my jackets were exactly as asked for. Hope the best for you. This is from Debs response after my initial email:
Hello Steve
I am really sorry, I did not see the original email you sent about the sizing so it is just as well you emailed again. I have asked production to review your order to make sure that we have made it within specified tolerance amounts but as approved by you and if we have then as such we are limited to what we can do in terms of a refund but what I can suggest or offer is that we sell it on our outlet at a price you specify and once it is sold I can refund you or indeed keep the funds as credit towards a new jacket, there is admin fees of £20 just to cover the time we need to use to photo your jacket and actually create it on our website as a stock product to buy. The other option would be for you to sell your jacket privately which you could get more money for doing it that way ….. have a think and let me know what you decide Steve
I'm not debating SB return policy on the forum any further. This was my experience period. I sent my measurements and did not request any changes to the standard 36 sizing which I was assured would fit me. I have yet to receive a response from my last two emails which are their preferred method of communication as they don't always answer the phone.
If I understand correctly the jacket this post is about is not custom but "standard" which I assume means off the shelf. I do not see how the above return policy applies? Here is the return policy that is listed on their website:

Does SB post the measurements of their jackets. I could understand their position if you signed off on the measurements for a size 36 in the model you ordered, or the measurements are posted somewhere in the ordering process

It does begin wearing off rather quick depending on how frequently its wore it will speed up/slow down. I have seen Bill Kelso tc wear off quickly, terry got one new years ago an said it (bk) started first day. Lux wasn't that quick but it came on in strong (the wear showed) . I threw it at my jacket in terms of - im not babysitting this jacket im wearing it hard, to work- deliver furniture- up an down stairs ,in an out of houses, trucks, even sitting in bed having morning coffee. Its actually pretty tough as wellBy the way, does Horween Lux lose its top-coating quickly? Would my jacket still look black after a few years of normal wear? I think I would prefer if the top-coating didn't wear off too quickly, unless that's exactly the point of teacore?

No, they are super secretive about their actual measurements.
Congratulations Steve, im sure a weight of emotions lifted off of you. Now its you, options, and decisions. Im reminded of mr. Wonderful on shark tank, "what are you going to do"They are accepting the return so the jacket is no longer for sale. Thank you all for your support and input.
