Thanks Brent!Great look, John. You wear western hats very well.
The look is growing on me quicker than I thought it would.
Might mean another one or three in my future...

Further proof that this logo did exist by the late 50s early 60s. It is unusual the separate size and long oval tags.. usually you see the off-white/yellowish long oval tags that ran for a longer time. These twenty fives can be a bit of an enigma with elements from different years. I think Shudde Bros could be a wild card here. That debossing looks a bit deep for 1960s … but it has been my experience the Stetsons made for Shudde .. especially back then… have been of the highest quality. My Shudde OR has a feel to the sweat not matched by other period StetsonsHere is my latest (I should probably post some of my others) Shudde Brothers hat. It is an interesting Stetson Twenty-five. This has the appointments like a OR but is one of Stetsons many "other" like hats and in NOT marked as a OR. This is a LATE 1950's early 60's and while thin, the felt is nothing like my other earlier 25 (which is a marked OR and is quite nice). It was in rough condition and in need a lot of brushing, sponging, special formula powders and just plain work to restore.
It has a 5 1/2" crown and a 2 1/2" bound brim. Sewn lining is two tone golden yellow with a darker shade tip. The felt is...OK only. Sweat (roan) is nice and wide and has the sweat register behind. Color is a nice Silverbelly shade. I will now wear it tonight....will probably be an everyday hat.

Check out the "wind cord"....it is a elastic band with a button....not even attached to the hat. It is for looking at....could be an "add on" from a dealer (Stetson may have not added one for a sort of Strat look) or Stetson just being cheap. I have found no evidence of another cord having being attached.

And the liner.......note the welted darker tip.

Here is the sweat...a nice 2" roan.

Interesting addition of a "long oval" tag makes me think early 60's...

Yes, in fact it was introduced around 1955. There has been some ads around hear somewhere and I have something in the vault too.Further proof that this logo did exist by the late 50s early 60s.
6 cord ribbon is akin to finding a Yeti! Great looking hat.And as promised another Shudde Brothers. This is a Resistol 10X Beaver, 6 cord (6 cords are a favorite with me).......and its box!
This has nice proportions and a pencil curl giving it a real planter vibe, a little over 4 1/2" crown as creased, 3 1/4" out to the end of the turn back of the pencil curl. NICE felt has a great Suede finish (almost Velour). Very petable.....

Wow, Mike, that is an impressive haul of hats. You just keep on piling them up; I like it.Shudde Bros Beaver Deluxe. 2 3/4 inch raw edge. Probably dates 50's or 60's or so. Just bought this yesterday and haven't received it yet.
I forgot to mention this Beaver Deluxe after I received it. Another great one. There's really little or no difference between this grade of Shudde hat and Stetson's 7X Clear Beaver.Shudde Bros Beaver Deluxe. 2 3/4 inch raw edge. Probably dates 50's or 60's or so.
