Out of curiosity, how does natural leather do in the rain?
Another belt from 2012, I think the one I posted earlier is actually his younger brother from 2011. The amount of wear time is probably about the same however, give or take; this leather was always waxier and resistant to shiny patina.
Who made the buckle?
Alabama Damascus according to the belt maker.
Thanks. Must say though it required a bit of rework; the underside edges too sharp, perhaps you can see the effect on the leather over time before I rounded them off
Well, these are from when I tried to round off the sharp edges with a grinder/dremel type tool but without achieving a good finish. Prior to that the whole edge was scraping across the width of the belt - this also happened with a sugarcane belt I have but to a much lesser degree as the buckle is not tough as damascus.
