Show us your vintage utility jackets

Just picked this goat skin up from a neighbor's moving sale and gave it a needed Pecard rubdown last night. Not sure of the brand as it is missing the zip-in liner (and label). It appears to be similar to the Swedish jacket posted by Dinerman with a Zipp zipper, but different cuff buttons. Excuse the poor pics ... was trying to dodge the rain and the spinning wind chime hanger didn't help. :eusa_doh:

Nice find! I bought the jacket Dinerman posted above. It is tiny and I am not, but I had to have it. I've consider having one made in my size. What size is this jacket?

A bit snug on me, but I'm running about 30 pounds heavy at the moment.

I know the feeling. Nice length. I will have to find some more pictures of mine. The leather and finish look very similar.

Unfortunately, no tags left in it. Its lined in red wool. My guess from the design of the yokes, cuffs and pockets is that it was made by Mid Western Sport Togs, of Berlin, Wisconsin, but there were enough small deerskin jacket makers in that area with similar patterns that it's hard to be certain. It's surprising that deerskin/buckskin don't get more love, it's a great leather.

This style is what the later half-belt jackets evolved from. It was the first style to be popular after the introduction of the zipper. Some had this shirt style collar, others with the rounded style.
