I've just pulled the trigger on a couple of old Roosevelt Campaign badges that can be pinned onto one's lapel. Pictures to follow once they come through.

I see a number of folk here love the old NRA badges, or Gentlemen Country Club badges, so what's your favs?

So what ones have you got...?

I have some pin-backs that were given out by bicycle manufacturers at the bicycle shows in the 1890s.

Sorry I can't post pictures as I don't have a digital camera.

See current avatar...I think Warbaby gave me this one! Also that mysterious button that just says "My teeth are OK!"
I want Roosevelt again too... what a topical button...

Found this for a dime at the local hospital thrift shop.

Heh. I can't help thinking they meant "camp" rather differently back then.... ;) Puts me in mind of the USO show in the Captain America film. Nice condition.... A lot of enamel badges I've seen of that sort of age haven't survived so well in terms of keeping their paint intact.

I have quite a few old enamel motorcycle badges, collected for specific costume purposes, but they're predominantly later - Sixties and Seventies designs. Interesting that pin badges like the ones Paddy posted at the top of the thread date back that far - I'd have assumed they were a later astyle. Who would have worn badges like that - and to where? Was it something people would have worn everywhere? I presume that, much like today, wearing badges of a political nature might have been something one didn't do in certain company or in certain places - such as at work?
