Thank you very much. We have been here about 6 years or so. We got it from the original owner so were able to get more info on the home. Yes, they made no major changes to the house, which was/is good. No painting all the wood white, etc. They did do a Home Depot remodel to one of the bathrooms, but that is easily fixed. We looked at several such homes and most all had been 'updated' over the years. One was just like you mentioned. The huge floor to ceiling window looking out to the back yard had been replaced with a new wall. Sad really. Well, that and the classic Greek style kitchen upgrade......

The cars are a 1957 Chrysler and a 1966 Corvette. Had them both several years. Have always had old cars. The Chrysler I also got from the original owner. It still has the original paint.

Wow, sartana, I'm turning green.

How long y'all been in this place? And what's with the cars? Had them long?

Oh, and by the way ... aren't you thankful that none of the previous owners did anything to compromise its essential 1964 ranchness? I know of a couple of '60s-vintage post-and-beam houses that have had their original floor-to-ceiling windows taken out and filled in with framing and sheathing and siding. Sheesh! That's worse than a waste of money.

sartana..... amazing home..... you really captured the whole look of the era. LOVE the fireplace :D

Thank you very much. The fireplace is indeed nice. The rock continues on the outside. There are many such details with the home. We consider ourselves fortunate......

Sartana, the more I look at those photos of your house, the more I like it. Any idea who designed it?

I did have the name but had not gone down to country records to see what else he may have designed. I believe he passed away in the early 1990's. I should look into that again. I am curious as well. I did ask around on some of the forums that talk about such things, all to no avail.

Didn't want to jinx it until we knew for sure, but now we do, so......

I did a little research on the woman that had it built in 1929 and found her picture that was taken about ten years prior:

More pictures of the house when we move in and I get things put away.

Hot dog, that's a sweet house. I love the style.

I can't wait to see what you do to finish it out in your inimitable style.

I once dated a woman who lived on Mockingbird Lane in Dallas. I dropped her for a woman who lived on Turtle Creek. Such is life.....
