MaryDeluxe said:Zemke Fan- Thank you, I've been working hard on my kitchen since I've been here. Next is replacing the counter tops. I'm leaning towards a boomerang laminate with the metal edge. I live fairly close to Reading in the Lancaster area so, I am familiar with the WWII weekend but have never gotten to go. There are lots of great shops in the Adamstown area that you must check out when you come for a visit!
Sweet Leilani- Thank you! Cool a PA gal! You must let me know what kinds of shops they have around your area, I'm always looking for new vintage places to explore. Here in Lancaster County we have Adamstown. Have you ever ventured there?
Oh yes! We have quite a few great shops here in Quakertown also, along with some great flea markets. But my primary targets are yard sales- we have a preponderance of older people living in older homes, so it stands to reason that we have some good sales. PM me if you're ever in the area and I can show you around!
Do you know of a place that can do countertops like you want? Last I heard no one was making the boomerang formica anymore, but some oldstock stuff was still going for $$$. The marbleized/gold fleck formica might still be around, though. I would like to redo our countertops someday as well- right now we have cheesy woodgrain formica.
Definitely come to WWII weekend if you can- it's like vintage heaven!!
