I don't usually buy ties on eBay (prefer the thrill of the hunt), but the combination of low price, hand-loomed wool and hand-painted ducks (and perhaps one too many bourbons) made me pull the trigger.

Pilgrim. Hand-loomed wool. 46" x 4".

Bourbon influenced or not, that ones a winner. The hand wovens are their own class of cool, and you can never go wrong with ducks. Two birds with one shot! Congrats!

That brown one is simple, but interesting. Dont know if I've seen one like it. Nice.
The brown one is interesting. It seems like it could be a crepe fabric. Whatever it is, it is a different weave than any of my other Amana ties. Both are pretty subdued by my usual standards. Ha ha.

Thanks,
Michael

I've actually had this one for a while, but just realized its value and quality. A red, white and blue silk bold look tie that remains my highest quality tie in my collection. The silk just feels excellent to the touch and the colors are still very rich. Works well with a double-breasted coat for that authoritative 40s look. This is in no way a middle-of-the-road quality tie.

Tag says it's from The Bon Marche in Seattle. If it was bought at the location in Northgate, this would be very early 50's (Opened on Apr 30, 1950), the width and pattern make this the best guess. Bon Marche sold some amazing stuff in its glory days.

Brocade detailing.

Happy tie hunting, folks. I'll share others later, i really have to observe my collection harder.

Do ties like this appeal to anyone here? I was given a bunch, if I keep, the owner would like a couple of dollars. If I don’t keep them, they head off to the goodwill. This is definitely not my style. But if people like them, I’d be glad to toss them in the mail.
