I don't need the money. Just bring me AND the Haberdashery back. I'll get rid of the people in there before we bring it all back---don't worry (FIRE!):p

Bringing it back would be ideal, although then it would be tempting to leave it as it is and use it as a museum...At any rate, I'm willing to suspect that there are still some NOSs out there in closets or boxes just waiting to be found.

It can stay as a museum----right after I remove anything that would fit me. :p I might bring some cars back with it too. :p
There might be some NOS out there but moths love NOS too. I would rather have it right from the store shelves. :p
We also need to specify that we are not bringing back just any haberdashery but specifically 617 SOUTH OLIVE STREET, LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA 90014. :p

I would like to take some of the 40R suits, 71/8 hats, etc., but to have such an establishment left extant would be great for posterity's sake. So I guess I'll just resort to going back in time for a couple of hours so that they can restock after I finish shopping...

I think I have figured a way to get the best of both worlds there. We can bring it back, Take everything we want and then send it back so they can restock it for us to do it again at a later date. :p
Geez, those hat and suit sizes fit my 6 year old. :p He might fight you for a few hats. :p I can just imagine a decent boys section that doesn't involve jeans, t-shirts and godawful tennis shoes. You can't find boys suits, hats and other decent clothes nowadays. I guess they expect your children to go around looking like pigs. :rolleyes::eusa_doh::mad:

And the tie of the day is:

I've seen your six year old, and if he is now wearing a 40R suit, then I'm a 50L...I guess your plan would work; I would just make sure that I left behind money for everything I bought before sending the store back.

Beauties chaps, here's a couple more sedate finds not a dollar but 'ten bob' each!
First a 'Country Life' all wool number, not sure of age

And a Terylene knitted 'mod' tie from the original 'mod shop' of 'Harry Fenton' of Shaftesbury Avenue W3 I believe?

I know Terylene isn't my 1st choice of tie fabric(mine's wool if I am honest) but I do think Terylene has some historical merit as a textile, some versions can be very 'plasticky' some almost like silk, many of the early-ish ones are nicely woven with interesting patterns unlike most modern versions which are just printed, silk I love but they do tend to slip a bit although in a nice small tight period not it's not so bad IMHO.
^^They are both quite attractive, Esteban, and the second one is made of Terylene, JamesPowers' favorite fabric...

Hello guys,

Here are three ties I thought I'd post;

The first one is by Haband, circa the late 1940's - I found an old advertisement featuring this tie somewhere online, I can't remember where, so I thought I'd post it here; the actual tie isn't quite as bright as the ad shows, it's a lot darker. It's one of my favorites.

Second is from the late 1940's or early 1950's; unfortunately, it's unlabeled. I bought it from the "Bobby from Boston" warehouse some of you guys may know about or have been to. Really nice summery tie; looks swell with baby-blue Hollywood slacks. I used my scanner to acquire these images, so you can't see the whole tie, but the dark blue is the top, the grid w/ shells is the bottom.

And lastly is a hand-painted number by"Andre of California". A big, ol', cuddly looking grizzly bear - very Californian indeed!
