I stopped to check out a new thrift store that opened in my neighborhood. Wasn't expecting much, but I found this 40s or early 50s castle themed Churchill for a buck.

I remember seeing a tie with similar diagonal shading in the recent The Nice Guys film.

The setting is ostensibly 70s, but I did see the Holland March character's wardrobe up close in the theater lobby. It has that unnameable geometric motif in the center.

Today I stopped by an indoor flea market/thrift store/tag sale and bought these items after work. Here are all the neat ties and bow ties I got.

Late 50s/60s clip-on bow tie. Yellow diagonal stripes.

Late 50s/60s clip-on bow tie. Red stripes.

Tan and olive 1950s/1960s tie. 56" long. 2" wide.

Black/dark grey 1950s/1960s tie. 53" long. 2 1/4" wide.

1950s? London Styled tie. 49 1/2" long. 3" wide.

I don't think this tie blue tie here is vintage on second thought. When I got it I thought it was vintage, but now I think it's probably a 90s kids tie or something. No labels. 52" long. 3 1/2" wide.

I usually wear my new red bow tie to work, but today I wore the vintage yellow stripe bow tie. I get compliments every now and then.

Thanks! I'm glad you like the ties!

I don't smoke cigarettes. I do vape. That's an e-cigarette. I also smoke pipes and cigars occasionally.

Sweet ! Cool motif on the fabric. Funny how the late 50s early 60s kinda had a neo deco look to things. If that makes any sense. Cars come to mind early to mid 50s were kinda bubbly/ bomber / missile then later like 58-59 to 60 to late 63 had bold blocked forms accented with fine deco style motifs highlighting the lines

My wife's late Mother had this "tie" quilt for many, many years. Not sure where she got it or the exact age. It's not like most tie quilts that I've seen that leave the tie in its normal form (typically in a radial or sunburst pattern). This appears to have been made up of new (or dead stock) ties that were cut into pieces one would normally see in a quilt. There are several patterns, but various colors of the same pattern. Without seeing the original tie construction I would guess these were late 1930s, but that would just be a guess.
