Thanks Quigley.

Btw, does anyone have The Book of Ties, by Mosconi and Villarosa?
Edit- I got my bookshops confused. The Strand is not gone. Trying to remember what I was thinking..

Haven't posted new ties in a while.

1930s:

The fish tie has the original tag.

The scene on the black tie is painted on using thick, textured paint.

Next question..

Not quite as many - 74 ties, 8 ascots and 5 bowties - prolly a modest collection by FL standards. Kind of amusing when you consider that I live where there's no place to go and nothing to do, and I'm prolly the only guy in town who ever wears a tie. And yes, I'm still adding to the collection. I love ties, whether I wear them or knot.

Far too many. The 30s ones i kept, the rest i sold.

Still, i've been in my current job since Oct 15th last year. And i haven't worn the same tie twice. :eusa_doh: And there are still bags and bags of them to be worn for the first time in this rotation :eusa_doh: :eusa_doh: :eusa_doh:

Must be approaching 250 or so. I just can't pass by a cheap tie and leave it on the shelf.

I have managed to find about 3 (three) 30s ties. Otherwise I have maybe a dozen or so modern ones, nice designs among them, but stupidly thick and long etc.

Wonderful ties everyone! I got 11 new pieces from my great-grandfather´s heritage, most of them are more than 40 years old, about half of them are silk. They would use some pressing...

And as for the total count of my neckties - 45 at this moment. More than enough :)

Most of those, especially in the bottom picture, appear to be 1930s ties. Nice collection!

Unfortunately, they just appear to be. Most of them are made by Hedva, company which was founded in 1949 and the design of the labels also speaks more for late 50´s. The good thing is that most of them really look 30´s, moreover some of them are really short, just as we like them :)

Very interesting. I wonder why they were made like that so late. Cheaper to make? Locality? Culture? Perhaps the war and rebuilding? Old tie patterns and machinery easier to find?
Whatever the reason, they are nice ties.
