Maybe the best day picking junk from the fleas that I've had in a while. Both hats fit me, but I think my favorite score was the little tin alligator...he's got wheels and when he rolls along his feet move and his mouth opens and closes

We picked up a few things from a garage sale. Prices ranged from a quarter to $2.00.

A variety of pottery and china. Too bad they didn't find the salt shaker.

Linens.

A large panel of vintage bark cloth.

And, since my wife broke my favorite cocktail glass, I picked up a new one. Great weight and feel.

Reminds me of this 1928 Kansas license plate I picked up for next to nothing a few years back.

Much more pristine examples can be had for not much money (I happened upon one from my Dear Old Ma’s state and year of birth, bought it and sent it to her; she was tickled) but I like this one just the way it is.

Elephant Brand Fast Color “trunk down” (1910 - 1940s) bandanna. A little inflationary pricing, but I can live with it.

Found this in the kid’s toys section. A High Spirits Native Flute (made in Arizona).

Closest example I could find in the current catalog.

I like old yardsticks just because they’re old yardsticks, but I especially like this one. I thought for a minute that it might be a joke. But no, I looked into the history of Davenport, Nebraska, a settlement that at its population peak numbered but a few hundred souls, and learned that there really was an undertaker there named Roy Scott, who purchased his first “auto hearse” in the 1920s. It appears that locals weren’t kicking off with sufficient frequency for Mr. Scott not to have another revenue stream. Hence the home goods.

The gliding mechanism is long gone and someone drilled holes in the arms at some point to make a porch swing out of it, but so far it's held it's own against 5 kids and 2 dogs.....unlike the couch that had sat in that spot previously.

An 85” x 56” Yeibichai rug (for $60!). The king size bed and fat Poodle are for scale.

The remnants of a 1944 Spring & Summer Denver Dry Goods catalog. Missing the back cover ($2).

A couple of crafting booklets ($1 each).

And a cast iron Scotty dog.
