Wonderful fit on this suit! But for me, I wouldn't wear the full suit, maybe just the jacket. A little too bold for my liking.

This is possibly one of the most bold suits I will own. Not yet completed but almost done.

NIce suit, seems to fit you well. It is bold but if you can pull it off, you'll be fine. Maybe a bit heavy weight for Texas? Also, the styling (half belt, pleated back, pleated pockets, double breasted waistcoat) is a bit over the top for the specific check design (too much happening), and so details could get lost amongst the checks. But over all lovely suit, congrats!

I picked up this Botany 500 3 piece yesterday at the local Goodwill.

I think I need to shorten the sleeves and pants a bit and the pants have a slight flare I might remove. I think mid-60s is the era.

Not sure what the fabric is, could be poly blend, could be silk blend. Seems to be fully canvassed.

Seems like a good spring color

Have a good one,

I really can't get enough of this one. Almost makes me sad that it will warm up, someday.

Have a great suit day,
Michael
I know the feel. I'm desperately trying to find vintage summer wear, more specifically a 30's-40's summer weight suit. Most of my nice clothes accommodate late fall/winter, sadly. Is this tweed suit of yours 1940s?

Vintage summer wear does seem to be harder to find. Once it's much above 70 I'm too hot even in a short sleeve shirt most of the time.

I think the suit is 40s or very early 50s, but it has not tags or labels at all to help date it.

Seems like it's the time of year to wear a bunch of 3 piece suits again.

Have a great Saturday, unless you already have other plans,
Michael

I think this is mid-60s. Varsity Town 3 piece houndstooth. All wool.

Wow just found this thread! I should have known. That is a drop dead gorgeous suit. Very well appointed and the perfect color. You have it matched up beautifully! 5 stars on that one, Michael.

Thanks D. I think that one was one of my earliest purchases after I dieted off some excess waist material. On me, not the suit. Now that you know about this thread I hope we can see you posting some examples from your fine collection. Here and on the Sport Coat thread.

Thanks,
Michael

Fairly substantial cloth. Late '60s? Made under a label I had not heard of, PdC International Collection. Seems to be canvassed. Pleated patch pockets. No pleats at the belt, but shaping via 5 darts.

Didn't think I would get to wear this til fall, but a cool day let me get a days wear and some photos for reference while deciding on what I want to try for alterations.
