Nice! Are you also bidding on the seller's 3-piece suit. That's a looker.

That's an official 'suit of the gods', period. I mean, look at the cloth alone: a cheviot wool herringbone Donegal tweed. What a mouthful. And don't even get me started on its magnificent colors ... and its superlative cut ... and its large size ...

This one's going to go for a lot of lettuce.

I figured that if I was able to bag the "suit of mere mortals" I'd forego bidding on the other one. It was already in the stratosphere several days ago, when mine was still at about $60. Given where mine wound up, I imagine the 3 piece suit will go right off into outer space. Would I love to own it? You better believe it.
But mine's not exactly chopped liver, is it?

Marc, you remember that Manx Tweed suit you took delivery of for me?

What an amazing set of colours. It looked just like this 3-piece, except with emerald green flecks In the hands of Mr H. Johnson now, as it was too long in the body for me.

I dream about finding a suit like that in a small enough size.

Great buy on the 2-piece, dhermann1. That kind of fabric is great; really something you just don't find anymore.

Jeez, it looks like the vintage suit market finally bounced back on eBay . . . maybe it's time to clear out some things that don't wear . . . maybe.

Here's a blazer I picked up at the Goodwill. It's actually a women's coat, but it fits shhhhhhhh
It has a blue-ish tint in the photo, but it's actually charcoal with a really subtle windowpane pattern which I like very much. You can't see, but I'm wearing dark gray slacks with it, a shade in between the shirt and the coat. It's my favorite outfit!

I couldn't decide which one to post, so I put them both up :p

Looks great! And I wouldn't worry in the least that it is a suitcoat rather than a blazer/sportcoat. ;)

What makes you think it's a women's garment? The button closure looks to be on the men's side. Was it in the women's section at the G-Dub? They frequently put men's vintage items out in the women's section there.

Well, it's double-breasted, so of course you can wear it either way I suppose. I grew suspicious when I noticed that the jigger was on the right side, rather than the left. Also, the size simply reads "4" :D
