I found these three two piece single breasted suits while on a road trip this summer. A store was closing down and the store owner cleared out the entire stock. A rack of vintage suits up front had only weird sizes but in the corner of my eye I spotted some similar garments. There, in the far corner of the store, was another rack filled with suits. At $40 a piece I couldn´t resist buying all suits my size.

The suits are all the same model but for some reason the jacket of the brown suit to the left doesn´t fit as well as the other two. There is a bulge below the neck which I guess can be altered by a tailor.

I´ve started wearing the grey suit to the right with the risk of being tagged as a Mad Men wannabe.

I´d say they´re probably from the 60:s but await the expertise. Here are some closeups of the labels:

The font on those tags is pure groovy baby.....that was a nice score...terylene...how 60s!

I cannot wait to get out of Juneau and have roads to go on a road trip for, then I'm driving across the country for some serious vintage bargain hunting.

Where was the store that closed down, Trenter?

The low gorge lapel style and polyester fiber material seem 1980's to me.
It's definitely 60s to me - the gorge is not low at all, the lapels are 60s thin, and there was a whole lot more polyester styles in the 60s-70s than the 80s.

It looks sophisticated in that Donegal tweed look and beautifully made by Jackie O's old bestie. Trouble is the very unsophisticated dude what's wearing it and all....lol ;)

Hardeehar. I think it will do well with my Converse high-tops. :D

I've studied quite a few vintage western suits down here but yeah, this one is classier than the rest I've seen.

Some people laugh at Cassini ,the designer, but I give him his props: He bedded every starlet from Grace Kelly to Marilyn Monroe...before marrying the magnificent Gene Tierney. Plus he was the first designer to figure out and capitalize on the licensing game.

^Wow that’s certainly a suit and a half!

Hullo there,
I don’t have a clue where to put this question across so I will just dump it here hoping in the off chance that someone will be able to help or at least redirect me… I’m in new territory here; my usual stomping ground is the powder room so please do excuse me…
I’m just wondering on your views and views from the 30’s/40’s in regards to wearing a deep navy pinstripe suit with London tan coloured shoes… was this acceptable?
I’m just not sure myself!
Any help will be greatly received…
Thank you in advanced ;)
