Sadly, all modern, but I do what I can with what I can (I'm the gentleman on the left, and on the right is my ever-talented attorney and animal trainer, Farnham54). hey Matt, any chance you could post a good one of the hunting jacket I wore on Saturday night? I didn't get any decent pics of it.

We should start a thread called "Show us your stripes"! Afterall, they'll always be popular!
This is my new Hart, Schaffner, Marx jacket (no pants). Tell me if you think its more on the blue or green side.
It's a bit big in the shoulders, so I'm going to get it taken in.

Blue green. I'd say more blue then green but, there is a touch of it nevertheless. I'll say it's a dark slate blue. How's that?

It was indeed a nice day for outdoor photography, though our digital camera is a total piece of crap :rage: These were the best we could do. Not too bad ...

An early-mid 50s DB that i picked up on ebay about a month ago for $18.50. I think noone else bid because the seller had somehow managed to measure the trousers waist at 26 inches. I took a gamble and the waist turns out to be 30-31 inches. Perfect! The first i've bought that needed no alteration at all ... what a steal. I apologise for the number of images. I tried to reduce their file sizes as much as possible:

And it Passes the Deckard test ;)

A couple of details:

Excellent buttons & cool wavy stitching behind the collar

NICE SUIT!!! My bet is that it's early 40's! The color of the buttons tell me it's some what earlier then the 50's! See how they contrast with the color of the suit? That's a late 30's early 40's style. LOVE IT!!! You did really good my friend!

Now, just a quick trip to the barbers and you'll be a real sharpie! Clean cut suit requires a clean cut!;)

Nice suit brother! Nice suit!

My winter plumage, sir! Anyone who lives in the midwest these last two days will understand the requirement for lots of head/ear coverage.

But i have been thinking of a trim. Might make my stratoliner fit a bit better :p

Maybe this:

If i still smoked the look would be my ideal ...

Go for the Bogart look friend! Even with out the cancer stick, it would look like a million! And yes, your hats will fit way better! As for the cold Midwest weather, I lived in central Canada for two years! A good thick scarf and a fedora worked perfect! Does it get down to -50 in your neck of the woods?

Once a gain, sweet suit!

Ahem, no. One more excuse for keeping my hair proved false :rage:

Just got a call from the tailor. My latest ensemble is ready for pickup. 40s jacket w/ modern, but vintage styled (quite accurate) trousers from Dolce and Gabbana. Pics will follow.

p.s. many thanks to everyone for the compliments. It makes the world of difference when walking past the jeering locals on campus every day to know there are people out there who appreciate well cut clothing.

Yeah it was a nice suit. a shame there wa sno time to have the costume department (ie - Lauren) alter it properly to my size (ie - slicing the bottom off the legs to be a better fit). :)

40's 3 Piece Suit

Hello Ladies and Gents,

As per your suggestion I am posting a picture of me in my 40's 3 piece suit that I wore in a recent musical I was in. I was playing a very formal englishman and as you can see had the full slicked hair. I actually purchased the suit on the web from Vintage Silhouettes.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Peter
