Stephen L. Stetson stingy beater today for household chores. Carter detachable sweatband, 2" brim and a mid-ribbon replacement by Mike Miller. Hat has been seen here before, but time to revive this thread.

Here’s an old favorite

Royal Coachman by Dobbs with guild edge
Darker grey felt with bluish tones with 1 7/8 black grosgrain ribbon and a wind trolley. The brim might be shorter at about 2 inches but there is nothing stingy about a Cavanagh edge in my humble opinion

Very classy hat for the era (late 1950s?) Love that liner tip and sweat stamps. Dig it!

Sounds like a plan! We shall bring brim Grinchmas to the lounge. When shall we officially start?

I imagine my stingy week May run a bit long but no where near as long as @steur Italian and American weeks :)
How about beginning Monday. I may just be wearing them around the house, but we can send the non-stingy folks scattering like cockroaches!

Technical question: where are we drawing the line....stingy or NOT stingy? Is 2" the cutoff or can we go to
2 1/4"

Ah-ha! As the OP, I started this thread with the arbitrary brim width of less that 2 3/8 inches. Not everyone will agree with this “definition,” but I’ve given up trying to get universal acceptance on most anything. I think our 2 1/4” brims count for stingies (they sure look stingy on my giant melon).

Exactly... one man’s stingy is another man’s wide brim. LOL

Does a fez count, or is no brim different than a stingy? Or is no brim the ultimate stingy?
