Pilgrim heels indicate pretty early like 30s/40s at the latest along with the interior.

Here are a couple of shots of my everyday dress shoes.
smlattanzis.jpg

These are four pair of bespoke Silvano Lattanzi's the bottom two are cordovan (horsehide), top two are calf.
smperrys.jpg

These are four pair of bespoke Ercolino's (Perry). He is a Pennsylvania shoemaker and close friend. Missing is one pair of Perry's "Spectators" I don't have a shot of them. Gotta remember to do that one of these days.

I have been looking for a pair of "Clarkes 1950's "Enid Blyton" sandals, for the past few years , I have ordered a pair of these, the closest thing i could find Made to order,, they do have a crepe sole which the orginal 50's sandals had, but i think the originals had the crepe sole in a pale beige/tan colour? I shall wear them with grey Ankle socks, shorts, and a white Hankie tied on my head

He is highly regarded by the cognoscenti ...that Perry. I particularly like your gator/croc captoes.

Great shoes, Cliff. And I agree with Cookie about the cap-toes from Ercolino. Very nice.....

I refer to the times we live in as "the era of the ugly shoe." I am constantly disgusted (or as Popeye would say "disgustivated") by the unseemly footwear sported by both men and women. Dirty sneakers seem to be the shoe of choice for most upright bipeds although they will occasionally wear whatever plastic, glued together abomination appears in the so-called shoe department at such stores as K Mart and Walmart. As for those walking shoes with the round soles, well I'd rather wear horse shoes.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I just needed to unburden myself before I lost control and ended up vandalizing the local Pic and Pay.
