All of these shoes are very sharp. Just some information for future reference, there are a few very good shoe repair shops still left in the USA, one is very close to my place downstate here in Michigan. Unlike some repair shops, the fellow that does work here is 4th generation shoe repair, he has stock for soles and heels unlike anywhere else I have ever been, and shapes and designs things to be as close as ever to original. His pricing is not all that bad either, I had him replace leather soles on a pair of De La Rentis shoes that I normally wear with tuxes, $29.00 and I was very happy with the quality of his materials and workmanship. The spade soles have a very attractive look to them on the shoes you purchased. Nice find.

The styling is surprisingly classical and I quite like it.

I guess this would go for a "spade sole..."

They are in my size, but I'm wondering what I should use them for. Fitting rubber half-soles would make them fit for sports... I wonder.

What's more they in the Finnish national colours! I would wear them under jeans. They would look cool.

I actually learned to XC ski in boots* similar to those and I couldn't imagine them being wearable as street shoes.

*They're not really boots but that's what they were called.[huh]

good price on those. I was within inches of snatching them, then decided to hold out for a more extreme spade sole.

Come on, the winning bidder HAS to be a FL'er. Let's see some good pics!

Some Vintage Boots. Very nice closed channel sole, I think. I'm guessing 1930's.

Style looks right & the Kangaroo Kraze was in full swing during the 30's. I recently got a 1936 Weyenberg catalog, and nearly half of their top-line models were offered in Kangaroo as well as Calf.

I don't understand why Kangaroo has fallen out of favor with modern shoemakers for the most part. It's VERY lightweight & just refuses to dry out & crack.

Anyway...
