These will be my next project. View attachment 108438
Well these are golf shoes...so I will take off the existing sole and heel and replace with new sole and heel. I have a few vintage rubber heels I may use but not sure yet as I have to dig through some boxes in the basement to find them. No need to do any color changing on these as they are already perfect. I may change the laces on them. What are your plans?

I currently have a pair of shoes I just started last night with mixing shoe dye....two different colors of green, regular green and jade green mixed. They will look very splotchy until I am all the way finished with the dye. I have to add some navy blue to the greens I already have mixed to do some burnishing and bring out a more vintage patina look to them. To hand dye shoes with brushes is a real pain.

Thanks, Eric! I really am impressed with the Carmina product. Well made. Wear well and they produce fabulous classic styles.WOW! Those take my breath away. The tight waist, the sole, the leather....I need not say more. Marvelous vtg shoes - wear them in pride.

What I achieve working on shoes is a bit of both Hobby and professionally. Over the years I learned a lot of interesting factors regarding shoes from my Husband and have studied dozens of publications on shoe making and repair. The shoes I've been working on the past month or so, have been for my Husband to wear. You do artistic work. Mind if I ask is this a hobby or do you restore shoes professionally?
Carmina is making some super nice shoes and boots.Carmina Shell balmoral Boots

Comfy looking sandals. Warm weather you can get away with wearing sandals.
I am not seeing a welt on those shoes. If they have no welt then you cannot have leather sewn on that I am aware of. The rubber soles on the shoes now are glued on with a high grab contact cement like Barge. Even though you may desire leather, the soles on what you have can be replaced with other rubber product soles but if no welt, no leather.Just snagged these on eBay Brooks Brothers Peal & Co I think they were part of the "Gatsby" collection when they were doing clothes for the movie. Not sure about why the soles though as most all of the Peal & Co I have seen are leather soles. I am hoping to find someone to convert them back to a more traditional period leather sole. Not sure if we have a good cobbler locally or I need to send them to someone - if anyone here does this let me know
