I saw those CH. Glad it was you who got them.

Thank you, these are wicked awesome! Many details about them I like, the sides of the soles/welt are rounded off as is the very top part of the heel where it meets the shoe, the liner is real soft inside, when I feel the inside uppers they are lightly padded.

You will note these have some custom shoe laces in them now. Originally they had a silver buckle closure that will "pull" each side of the upper/lacing area together and were sort of like a "cam" action. I have to imagine someone along the road decided to take the buckles off them and do what ever with them? But these shoes work just fine with some laces and not the metal buckles. They are keepers and even as they state in the shoe a size, they are a bit larger as to some 10 1/2 size shoes would not fit me. These fit like they were made for me. I am trying to find a date of about when the shoes were made?

The other vintage "new to me" shoes, those two tone hanovers are far too small for my foot, I think they are a 10 D or 10 1/2 C, but they are coming along really nicely and will be out on the "block" for sale as it is. They have almost no real wear on them, I am going to be working on them for a few more days yet, perhaps by this next Friday if someone purchases them they would be ready to ship. Still soaking with conditioner now, and then a few days of polish/wax. They are coming along real nicely.

Wearing my favourite boots today. Tricker's Stow - double leather sole and built to last for years:

If I owned those nice boots, I'd be wearing them as well! Have to admit they are nice looking and fairly well made with some quality to them, for sure! They look so very nice and "comfy", too!

Pics or it never happened....

Geez, aside from some of the "best efforts" posting some of the pictures my mere humble little cell phone can make, I was thinking some rather deep and pathetically self centered thoughts.......

So to take into the consideration that way "over there" in Australia you are upon the season per what you have made me aware of, well....fall...winter....those cold and hard days of blowing cold wind, and maybe (not so very sure about it, but) some winter snow fall?

In light of all this and after having some really intense conference with my Wife, it was decided by both popular vote and written ballot to come upon posting at least one picture with my new found treasures being mounted up and onto my ownership, thus a picture showing you just a "little leg" including shoe.........(may it keep you warm in spirit and kinmanship).....

LoveMyHats2,

My other pair that I have been working on....some Hanovers.....weeeeeeee haaaaw!

I remember Hanover shoes! They were a great brand and I bought them frequently. Alas, they seemed to meet their demise with all the others.

They take a bit of breaking in, but the leather Tricker's use is superb. I think they're probably the best English manufacturer for country brogues.

Picked these up for $.50 yesterday. Leather is a little dry but otherwise NOS. A longish size but pretty narrow.

7.5D so they are normal width supposedly. That price is sensational as they are in a NOS condition. Even the scratching looks removable once conditioned.

I had a pair of those in both black and brown. Once refurbed they will shine and look sharp.

Please soak those nice looking Freeman shoes, until they are floating in conditioner. They appear such they will be fine if you do. Love that brown!

Nothing makes me smile more than a pair of hand made shoes....and once again, my Wife finds a pair of shoes that are unusual to say the least...here we have a pair of handmade wingtips in a British tan color, and made for Lucchese, which is so very well know for making fine western boots, and to date, I cannot find a single source for any other pair of Lucchese brand dress shoes that are wingtips, lots of boots, no real dress shoes and none hand made.......weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaw!
