But these are going to be the "cats pajama's"...Made to order from Vass.....due to my luck at the Casino, my Wife was busy making an order for me to have these bad boys made! I am going to be pacing the floor waiting for them to be made and then shipped! I have a few new suits to wear and these all will look just spiffy with my attire!

Now, I have to find a home for some of the shoes I already have, there is no room for any more shoes!

This is how you do it at the Casino....I hit several not so big jackpots on this Machine, and then moved to a $5.00 machine....what a wonderful time to spend with my Wife on our Anniversary....

True but for me, to have someone as wonderful as my Wife to share everything in life with is a real treasure! I sort of look at it like this is the start of being in heaven with a beautiful angel.

You are a Big-Timer now! Vass ownership takes one to the next level of shoe collecting. MANY congrats. Be SURE to get at least one pair with Goyser stitch. It is what Vass is so famous for.

By the way, let me know what you want to unload from the rest of the "Herd" of shoes. You have great taste and I can help you unload, I am sure.

Well, I will check into that, I am going for having one of each of these shoes made as in the pictures, however, the top picture, that particular shoe I am asking for it to be made in a very light color, off white, ivory, perhaps even a very light grey? I've only owned custom made western boots, and have never owned any Vass brand shoes....I am looking forward to them, as they are made "heavy" and for those shoes, that spells "quality" like a Roll Royce or Rolex! When I look at anyone that makes bespoke shoes, you see they try to copy the Vass look a lot! So yes, I am really like a puppy waging my tail!

But there is also another lesson I am just now looking at, sort of what Cookie would say about being a shoe tragic.....the price of a Vass shoe can get up there for sure, but if you look at the quality, they can be rebuilt if need be, and if you really pamper those shoes, they can appear like new for a fairly long time. That information means something to me and perhaps others. One can spend a good grand for buying maybe three normal class nice dress shoes, perhaps they last maybe not, but then soon you spend another grand for shoes....that could have gotten you at least two pair of Vass shoes on sale MTO and the end result is a positive ending to the quests for nice shoes. Sure, I will always treasure my true vintage shoes, my FootJoys, Florsheims, Stetson, etc., but there really is such a very large "leap" in all aspects of quality in these Vass shoes. I have maybe owned 5 shoes that are close to Vass but maybe not totally from the Vintage department save for maybe the tiger shark shoes I had, and...the Bostonian spade spectators, and....the Nettletons I have spade sole two tone specs... I have to say, the MTO shoes are going to be in the "top dog" spot for some time to come.

It would behoove you to try on the various lasts offered by Vass before ordering. Personally, I can't wear half of them. FL member HungaryTom can be of great assistance if you can't try on the genuine article.

Thank you for your wise concerns. They do have a list of questions and measurements to provide the fit for these, I am fairly confident these will all fit me just great! Not the same as "dry fitting" a shoe, but as much input given I feel very safe they will be comfortable.

It will be far more worse than that my friend! Oh lord have mercy....it was already some nice pairs BEFORE we left to go to the Casino to celebrate our Anniversary....and as luck would have it, I hits several nice jackpots.....we got home later last night....and my Wife lets a few "cats" out of the bag....lol! Pictures to follow later, however, I was right about the Barkers....and a pair of NOS Specs from J&M, but the real bread and butter going with the steak and potato dinner is, MTO' Vass shoes, she said she was "eye balling" them and now with the extra cash in the stash from the Casino, she will be emailing for the three pair special someone has on line.....and then she says, she wants a pair of custom boots.....for herself! lol! Now she has those lil bitty feet as some small Gals have, and I told her, "geez, do they make them that small"?..."maybe we can check out the boots made for children"?????? I mean it is a no brainer....custom made boots for women are expensive....lil kiddies boots are a dime a dozen.....which means, maybe one more pair of Barkers perhaps? lol! I actually do not mind is she wants to have some custom made boots for herself....as it is, I am going to the bakery soon to grab a "strawberry pie" for her....least I can do for my Wife, specially as she is shopping like crazy for me, and the money won at the Casino is funding more shoes....we had a blast!

Just a historical point. Vass was until recently a woman's shoe maker that went over to men's as well.

As I have suggested before she is the ne plus ultra wife for a shoe tragic.

Very sage advice. That U and its later K derivative are sleek Italian lasts developed by Ugolini and were the reason Vass took off as a shoemaker...that and the hand made aspect. There was not a huge market for Budapesters outside Mitteleuropa.

Thank you...oh yes....when you get what I am sending you, please do take some pictures...I will do the same for what you are sending me when it arrives!

I am not sure how many people at Vass make the MTO shoes, but I am excited to see what I can learn from them as it will help me when it comes time to make some shoes for myself!

I did notice the K last does seem to be similar to the style of shoes from British makers, similar to the Barkers I have coming?

My "budget" for the Vass shoes would not be possible had it not been for winning a few extra stacks of cash from the Casino....and I would not have ever thought about these shoes had my Wife not been cruising for them and conversing about getting something really nice and different from what she has been finding for me. So far she has handled all the contact with the MTO people, and she was very impressed with how they asked her as many questions as she would have asked them! They have a sincere desire to please their customers and gave her the indication of being very professional in all aspects involved!

Now I have to wait...like I a newly expecting Father at the Hospital waiting for a baby to be born...the pacing begins....lol!
