I got my pineapple dress from there, among many other things. I adore modcloth because they have a FABULOUS return policy and great customer service. My exchanged pineapple dress (in a larger size...darn chest...) is on it's way here now. They're quick like a bunny. I've got a wishlist a mile long... The hubby isn't thrilled about it. LOL

For you other ModCloth gals, do any of you have dresses made mostly of polyester? I own 2 items from them and love them, and currently have my eye on a third. The only downfall is in the reviews some of the girls complain of wrinkling. I didn't think polyester wrinkled easily? It would be a work dress and I sit behind a desk for a good portion of the day. I don't want to end it in a pile of wrinkles! Am I confusing my fabrics?

I've bought a couple dresses off Modcloth now, two of which are 100% polyester. It's weird because one of them wrinkles quite easily, yet the other doesn't whatsoever. Both dresses are quite different textures though, even though they're made of the same fabric, so perhaps that's why? I don't know all too much about different fabrics, so perhaps another girl can chime in about that. As for Modcloth though, I'd definitely trust the reviews - from what I've found, they're generally very accurate!

I won this Swirl, which looks almost deadstock. Can't wait for it to arrive! And the weather to warm up obviously...
Ok, i have a question about Swirls- In your opinion how is the fit of the wrap? Is it better than modern day wrap dresses? Do you wear them with slips? I'm always hesitant to buy old wrap dresses because i'm scared a gust of wind will come down and blow it apart : / thank you for any light you can shed.
BTW it's a beautiful dress i love the neck detail and POCKETS! :D

Thank you! I like the fit much better than modern wrap dresses, as Swirls are much more forgiving. I assume you mean modern wrap dresses made out of jersey? Those show up lots of lumps and bumps, which vintage cotton wraps don't.
However, I do wear slips with mine or even half slips, because I live by the sea and gusts of wind do open them up sometimes.
It also depends on how fitted you wear them - the smaller they are the less fabric there is and the more you can expose.

A final goodbye to my student's sneaker days: yesterday I got my first real heels in about a decade. I'm not sure if they can really be considered high-heels (about 10cm), but I had to do some walking practice. :D
I love them and think they are quite vintage compatible.

Bought myself on Etsy. I don't have a single pointy-shouldered pattern:

Haven't sewn anything substantial in AGES, either.

Went vintage shopping and bought 4 pairs of shoes (among other things).

First, a pair of brown leather and suede shoes of unknown date (1960s?), worn once or twice:

A pair of brown leather "old lady shoes" that have never been worn:

A pair of wine leather pumps that I think are either 50s or 60s that have barely been worn and never outside by the look of the soles:

And finally, a pair of modern black satin pumps with slight platform and leopard details that have been used very sparingly:

20s- inspired beaded dress bought in San Francisco, CA at Decades of Fashion. Got the vintage earrings and choker, and peach 40s slip worn underneath there also.

Always wanted a Pram!!

Went estate sale shopping this morning, as you will find me and the hubby doing every Saturday, and I found this pram. 1960s Bilt-Rite.
It was marked $25!! The lady (in her early 70s or so) said it was her mothers and she had been saving it for her grandchildren but she didn't have any. She was flexible on the price as long as it went to a good home. We settled on $20 just so we didn't have to make change. Don't even have a baby to put in it yet and our dog did not like it at all, but I've always wanted one and the deal couldn't be passed up.

I've been busy!

I bought two Fleur dresses from Heyday and I'm just thrilled with them. I snapped this pic in my daughter's room on Thursday before I ran out of here like my skirt was on fire.
