My latest- a 1930's lace gown/dress. It's ineed of a lot of work but I just love it!
(please excuse the black slip, was being too lazy to change!)

Miss Tuppence, your dress is super sweet! It would have been so perfect for Easter. Love it!

That black suit is absolutely gorgeous, Miss Golightly!

I thought I would just chime in on the foot thing - I am an English size 7 (I think that's a US 9? It's definitely a Euro 41!), and so is my Grandma, who was born 1939. She said it was VERY hard for her to get shoes, and she said she seems to remember my Great-Grandma getting them made especially for her.

The last word on larger feet: I used to work at a specialist shoe fitters and we did ladies shoes up to a UK 12.5 - that's about a US 14.5!Princess Diana bought from us occasionally (she was a very slim size 9).

Not all of our customers were ladies however...

I bought a phone.

It's not really old, but still close to vintage - it was made around 1980. From what I've gathered it was made by our National Teleservices Company as a sort of gimmicky celebration item.

It's called 'Garbo' after one of Sweden's more famous exports and fully functional.

Sturdily built too.

It's looks perfect in my increasingly deco-ish home!

Excuse the face, my photographer has the funnies timing ;)

This one needs a re-dye because the colour faded, I´m just not sure about the colour.

You looks great in yellow, Katinka!! Love the shoes paired with the dress too!
As for the violet dress - I really like that color! I'd leave it some shade of purple :) Although I bet it would look awesome in navy too...

A 1960's pink Aquascutum of London coat:

Oh Gosh, love that coat! I have one very similar, also pink..i always wear it in the spring after it's too warm for my heavy winter coat..I've worn it for about 10 years and still going strong! mine is mohair though..this looks lighter..what is it made of?

Olive Bleu - thank you! I have no idea what the coat is made from - just waiting for it to arrive. I think it might be wool or wool mix but I think that it should be a light enough coat - nice for Spring evenings!

I Adore Film Noir - Apparently the coat does have a silky lining in pink - it's not very clear from the photo and like you, when I first saw it I thought there was no lining either (which would be odd!).

An update on the coat - it arrived this morning and it was NOTHING like what was set out in the listing - it's not Aquascutum (no label and the quality was horrendous), it was clearly handmade (and badly done at that), no lining (scratchy and unwearable), with fading on the collar - overall a complete disappointment. I contacted the seller and explained the above and she offered me a complete refund which I accepted.

What I don't get is why say the coat is one thing when it's clearly another?

Thanks KatieSparkles! It's in very good condition for its age - one small chip on the inside of one of the lids so you won't be able to see it. I think the shape and colour of the set is quite unusual.

Miss G, that colour looks surprisingly sophisticated when sitting on top of wood - I have a similar one and thought it might be a bit 'girly' for his nibbs, but it blends beautifully.

I was thinking that might be the case - it's really not too girly a colour. I have an amber coloured dressing table set that I was going to put in our bedroom but the more I look at this one the more I'm thinking it might work better - we'll have to see when our room is complete - nice to have the choice though!

Bought myself this great 1930s linen sportswear dress, partly because I absolutely love a bit of 30s linen, and partly because I have a new job, and I wanted to treat myself. :) I will be able to swop the belt and shoulder ties for different colours too, which I like. It has the coolest early plastic eyelets! Swoon!

That is very nice! Does it have an opening/ closure besides the one at the shoulder?
