My best investment ever. The photos of all these original dresses are absolutely astonishing. The craftsmanship that has gone into these gowns is mind blowing. My favorite section is the beginning of Volume I when they show the 18th century court gowns.

I have this too! I got it years ago, at that antique mall in Pasadena. I don't think I even owned any vintage patterns yet! lol It's a handy little book.

Miss Hannah, those buttons are great. I went on a mini spree yesterday. I got a green 1950's day dress with full skirt, A yellow 1960's (?)nightgown with lace roses in orange and yellow, A white day dress with red, pink and green flower. The tag said 32 bust size 12 but it fits like a siz 16 at least. I also got a 1940's tilt hat that needs cleaning and reblocking, a 40's wool jacket in red and black plaid and vintage house slippers. They aren't Daniel Greens but there cute.

Had a big spendup at the Sydney Vintage Clothing Fair this weekend - bought three dresses and one opera cape. A friend has photographed them for me, so I'm just waiting for her to send them on (my camera battery was dead). I've photographed this one just on a hanger - it's a 1920s dress with a Gypsy Girdle...a style I've been looking for to add to the collection. I love the Egyptian revival style clasp - although it's a circle, the whole shape is evocative of the winged scarab:

Won another Swirl. Not your typical Swirl dress but great for around the house. Nice price also. Hope it fits.
